The Story of a Little Girl
Bruce Chen, the founder of Bion Tech is reminiscent of the story for birth of Bion Tech.
My eldest daughter was very cuddly. When I finished work and went back home, she would ran out of her room and came to hug me. I remember when she was in 3rd grade (Around 1992), one day when I came home, she didn’t come to hug me, I felt strange and went to look for her. Eventually I saw her weeping inside her room. It turned out that her school teacher asked her classmates to introduce themselves and their family. Some classmates’ fathers are teachers, some are doctors, some are government employees. And she felt embarrassed to have a father who is doing business selling “pesticide”. She didn’t feel proud of her father’s occupation in front of her classmates. This incident hurt my daughter’s heart and it also hurt my heart. I was quite sad for a long time, even though I think pesticide business is helping to protect crops just like doctors healing patients with medicines, it should be a good thing. But nonetheless, pesticide business does not give good image for society at large. Therefore, I made up my mind, “I want to make my child be proud to say, my father is doing business selling safe and harmless “bio pesticides”, to protect plants and environment, and to increase food production to feed people in the world.” With continuous hard work and efforts, “BIon Tech”, is finally established in February 22nd, 2002…
